It's a favorite place for kids on hot summer days.

Downtown Iowa City features a Pedestrian Mall, which is a popular
spot for arts festivals, concerts, and people watching.
Most of the year, the Pedestrian Mall is dotted with food and
coffee vendors which draw people outside to socialize.
On home football weekends, downtown is the place
to gather to watch the game.
The chidren's play structure downtown next to the
Public Library provides kids with a diversion.
