Meet the SHAPEDOWN Program Team
Angela Charsha, MS, MA
Angela has been working in the fitness field since 1996. Angela is the Assistant Director of Fitness/Wellness for The University of Iowa's Recreational Services Department. She is an AFAA certified group fitness and kickboxing instructor and an ACE certified personal trainer. Angela leads fitness classes for students, faculty/staff and public on campus and is the elite personal trainer on staff. Angela graduated from Monmouth College with a bachelor's degree in Sports Administration and Business in 1998. In 2001, she graduated from Michigan State University with a Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration and in 2002 with a Master's degree in Kinesiology.

Donna L. Hemingway, MS, RD, LD
Donna has provided weight loss assistance to individuals of all ages and stages of life for over 25 years. She is currently the clinical dietitian with the Weight Management Program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and has completed the Certificate of Training in Child and Adolescent Weight Management. She lives on a farm in rural Johnson County. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, going to movies, and taking care of her pets: 3 donkeys, 2 cats, and 2 dogs.

Krista Mace, Office Manager
After serving in the United States Air Force as a medical service specialist, Krista joined the University of Iowa in 1992 and has been the office manager in Counseling and Health Promotion Services Clinic since December 2002. Her interests include the activities that her son and daughter are involved in, shopping, antiques, and country music.

Karen Nelson, PhD
Licensed Psychologist/Associate Clinical Professor, Psychiatry
Karen has specialized in working with adolescent girls since 1993. She co-leads a psychotherapy group for high school girls coping with depression and anxiety. Her background includes work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. She enjoys reading, entertaining, seeing live music and walking her yellow Labrador.

Ronnye Wieland, ARNP
Psychotherapist, Counseling & Health Promotion Clinic, Family Medicine
Ronnye has worked as a Psychotherapist treating individuals with a broad range of psychological disorders as well as extensive experience in group settings.
Ronnye has worked with overweight adolescents and adults for over ten years. She has 20+ years of eating disorders experience treating individuals with bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Ronnye enjoys riding her two horses, walking her dogs, traveling, and photography.
