Partial Hospitalization

Partial hospitalization maybe either a "step down" approach from the inpatient program or a "step up" from outpatient care.

UI Health Care opened the partial hospitalization program in 1995 to complement existing eating disorder programs. From breakfast through dinner, this program incorporates the treatment methods from the inpatient program, allowing the patient to go home for the evening and weekends.

Partial hospitalization treatment includes meal prescriptions, cognitive behavioral group therapy, social work intervention, medical support, psychopharmacology, dietary guidance and occupational, recreational and educational programs.
