Image-Guided Radiation Therapy
Facility Features
- The world’s first completely image- and optic-guided stereotactic radiation delivery systems.
- 35,000 square feet located below ground to ensure that all radiation units are shielded to meet stiff new safety requirements.
- Cancer Information Services office within the Radiation Oncology Clinic - complete with PCs, videos, and hard copy literature for patients and families to learn more about their disease, information on clinical trials, and information on the oncology support services.
- A waiting area for the families of patients who spend all day with us for some complex out patient procedures. This room feels like a living room complete with couches, televisions, VCR, a small kitchenette, board games, etc.
- Large treatment rooms allow for the installation of more advanced technologies, making it easier to incorporate other care providers in the treatment (i.e. neurosurgeons and anesthesia), and providing a more comfortable treatment atmosphere for our patients.
- Additional patient/family consultation rooms with comfortable living room like atmosphere where patients and families can discuss additional information regarding their treatment, prognosis, social services needs, support groups available etc. with their care providers.
- Pediatric play area for patients as well as the patients' pediatric family members designed with bright, warm colors and complete with a television, VCR, and games and toys.
- Additional patient exam areas to increase the numbers of multi-disciplinary clinics to enable patients "one-stop shopping," bringing our care providers together to see the patient.
- Parking is a convenience not a concern for our patients.
