After graduating from Michigan State University with high honors, Dr. Jacobson obtained her MD from the University of Utah and completed her residency in Radiation Oncology at LDS Hospital. Dr. Jacobson then further challenged herself and obtained a Master's of Public Health.
Dr. Jacobson's previous appointments include Assistant Professor at the University of Utah Medical Center; Medical Director at the Radiation Therapy Oncology Center in Brooksville, Florida; Assistant Director of Clinical Research at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston; and Medical Director at the Bayfront Cancer Care Center in Florida. Dr. Jacobson joined the Department of Radiation Oncology at UIHC in 2002.
Dr. Jacobson continues to pursue clinical excellence through teaching and research. Actively involved in two clinical trials, Dr. Jacobson seeks to reduce the side effects of cancer treatments and increase quality of life. Dr. Jacobson's clinical focus is primarily on breast and gynecologic cancers. This includes use of image-guided radiation and other modalities to decrease the acute and long-term morbidity of cancer treatment. |
