Previously, he served in the military as an imaging technologist, then went on to earn his undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Giessen, Germany. He earned his MS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa, then completed medical physics residency in radiation oncology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
