Dr. Alfredo Siochi joined the Department of Radiation Oncology December of 2004 as an assistant professor of medical physics. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with his bachelor's of science, Dr. Siochi went on to obtain his master's and doctorate in physics. Dr. Siochi then got a second master's from the University of Cincinnati, focusing on algorithms for brachytherapy.

Before joining University of Iowa Health Care, Dr. Siochi's professional appointments included Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio; Siemens Medical Systems in California; and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. Dr. Siochi has over 19 patents granted related to intensity modulation, with some of the technology he developed being used nationally by radiation treatment delivery and planning systems.

Dr. Siochi brings with him an expertise to enable better treatment planning through leading-edge technology and treatment planning.
