Wenqing Sun, PhD, MD

A graduate of the Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program (FRRBP), Dr Sun joins our faculty as a physician researcher as a member of the broader H&N oncology team.

A graduate of Peking University Health Science Center, Dr Sun joined the FRRBP at the University of Iowa under the mentorship of Douglas Spitz. Her interest in oxidative stress drew her to study the effects of Manganese Superoxide in sensitizing cancer cells to many anti-cancer drugs.

Following her graduation from the program, she entered her physician residency also at the University of Iowa where with a clinical focus on Head and Neck, Breast and Cervical Cancer. She joins our practice with an emphasis on Head and Neck Cancers while pursuing research into radiation sensitizing drugs.
