Dr Xia was recruited to be a faculty member after completing his Medical Physics residency in our department, in 2011. His main area of clinical interest lies in High-Dose-Rate brachytherapy, but also extends to IMRT and SRT. Most of his research has focused on Deformable field registration where he has published significantly.

Prior to entering the field of Medical Physics he worked as a software programmer and instructor. This experience was used when he recently co-authored a paper that investigated the feasibility of using the Microsoft Kinect system to monitor respiratory motion.
