Free Radical and Radiation Biology

Postdoctoral Program


Postdoctoral Scholars at in the Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program are recognized as individuals engaged primarily in research. As part of a continuation of post-Baccalaureate education and training, post-doctoral scholars are unique from either students or faculty members, and responsibilities, classification, and benefits have been tailored to this unique status. As a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Free Radical and Radiation Biology Program at The University of Iowa, you have access to many of the opportunities and services available to students, as well as several of the benefits provided to faculty.

Each postdoctorate plays an important role in the research of this department by completing projects in the laboratory, publishing the results of their research with their mentor, overseeing work study and part time student employees, and participating in departmental workshops and attending seminars. Postdoctorates are encouraged to apply for grants or special fellowships that support their area of research

Candidates for the position must have recently completed their PhD or MD-PhD degree. Applicants should access the research programs of individual faculty, select an appropriate member, and submit a letter of application, C.V. and names of references to that faculty member.
