John Buatti, M.D., a physician with University of Iowa Health Care, was named a fellow of the American College of Radiology at the organization's annual meeting on May 3 in Washington, D.C.
The award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to radiology through service to the profession, education or research.
Buatti, professor and head of the UI Department of Radiation Oncology and deputy director of clinical cancer care at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, is a world-renowned radiation oncologist. His interests focus on tumors of the central nervous system and treating tumors with optically guided radiotherapy.
