Honors, Awards, Announcements
Fadi Joudi, MD, Assistant Professor, has received a Special Contribution Award from the Iowa City Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC), for his efforts in instituting a new scheduling process for urology clinic patients. The new scheduling system has resulted in less wait time for patients to be seen for their next appointment, as well as a more consistent clinic daily schedule. Dr. Joudi is Chief of Urology at the VAMC. Dr. Joudi also has received a Certificate of Appreciation for Contributions to Medical Education from the UI Carver College of Medicine.
Ken Nepple, MD, fourth-year resident, has received a Center on Aging Certificate of
Excellence award for his presentation entitled "Prevalence of Delayed
Clinician Response to Elevated PSA Values in Men Subsequently Diagnosed with
Prostate Cancer" during Research Week, which is sponsored by the Carver
College of Medicine, the College of Public Health, and the Iowa City
Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Chris Simons, MD, fourth-year resident, has been awarded the 2007 combined Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and the Society for Sexual Medicine in North America Annual Traveling Fellowship. The award includes travel to the annual SSMR and SMSNA meetings, as well as AUA postgraduate courses and symposiums.
