Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy

MBCT is a method that integrates mindfulness meditation and cognitive therapy.  Evidence has shown it to be effective for prevention of relapse for people who have experienced multiple episodes of major depression and are in remission at the time they participate in the program.  Participants will learn a combination of skills from mindfulness meditation (non-judging, present-moment awareness) and cognitive therapy as a means to relate more effectively to thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations that contribute to depressive relapse.  This is an 8-week program.
