Registration For University of Iowa Employees
MSBR is open to anyone who qualifies, whether or not they are a University of Iowa employee. University employees may be eligible for the liveWELL Program through UI Wellness which may provide financial support for participation in Mindfulness–based Stress Reduction.
Upon completing a Health Risk Assessment and giving consent to be contacted, you may be eligible to work one-on-one with a UI Wellness Health Coach. While participating in the Health Coach service, you and your coach may decide that Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction is an appropriate referral. To get started:
- Go to liveWELL
- Read the eligibility requirements to determine if you may participate in the liveWELL program.
- If you are eligible, take your Health Risk Assessment, found at your Self Service site.
- After completing the Health Risk Assessment, you may be contacted by a health coach who will guide you to appropriate resources, which may include Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction, based on your individual health status.
- If your Health Risk Assessment indicates that the Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction program may be a helpful resource for you, and you and your Health Coach determine that the course is appropriate, the liveWELL program will forward your name to the Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction program staff and you can attend one of the required information sessions (see dates and times above).
Flex Spending Reimbursement
If you are a UI employee with a flexible spending account as part of your health care benefits, you may also submit MBSR tuition for reimbursement upon completion of the program. If your UI health care acount covers your partner and/or family, the fee for their participation in MBSR may also be submitted for reimbursement if they have a doctor's referral to MBSR.
