Site Visit Program
To accommodate requests of potential visitors, a half-day to one-day program has been designed to demonstrate many of the features of the INFORMM Nursing Information System (NIS). The program can be customized to meet the specific objectives of the attendees. The program may include:
- Overview of The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the INFORMM system
- History and overview of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Nursing Informatics
- Presentation of INFORMM NIS applications, features, and database
- Presentation of the standardized nursing languages
- Presentation of implementation strategies for standardized nursing languages
- Demonstration of INFORMM NIS
- Panel discussion by Informatics Nurse Specialists about system lifecycle, education, database, and data archive
- Panel discussion by users from key areas describing their involvement throughout the design, implementation, and training processes
- Brief tour of the hospital and a visit to an inpatient nursing unit
A continental breakfast, morning and afternoon breaks, and a catered luncheon are provided. A registration fee covers the administrative expenses associated with the program and food costs.
