Magnet Recognition Program®
The 65 Magnet Standards
The standards mainly focus on nursing practice. They address ways the nursing department fosters and encourages interdisciplinary planning and collaboration in relation to the various care populations served. For example, some of the standards relate to maintaining privacy, confidentiality, security of patients, charts, staff and organizational data. They also relate to how evidence-based research findings are applied to clinical practice.
The standards are made up of 14 categories. Among them are core standards, which total 100 percent and other standards, which total 100 percent.
