Unit Description: Two 24 bed units, 6RCE and 6RCW

Patient Populations: Adult patient populations consist of Acute and Chronic Renal Failure, Endocrinology, Diabetes, Infectious Disease, General Medicine, Gastrointestinal Disease, and Cystic Fibrosis.

Unit Information: This unit offers many opportunities for nursing staff to develop a wide range of essential nursing skills. Nurses are an integral part of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, dieticians, social workers, physical therapists and advanced practice nurses. Self-scheduling is utilized with oversight by a staffing committee. Shifts are composed of 8 or 12 hour shifts. The self-scheduling model makes it is easy for staff to adjust their schedules to accommodate personal needs, continued education, child care, etc.
