Primary Care Clinic North
Unit Description: 15 exam rooms, including a prcedure room
Patient Population: The PCCN provides primary care services to enrollees of the IowaCare Program, initiated and funded by the Iowa legislature on July 1, 2005. Continuing to grow, the PCCN schedules about 80 to 90 patients daily. PCCN patients are between 19 and 64 years of age and are seen for preventive medical exams, chronic disease management, acute conditions, and anticoagulation clinic services. Nurse only visits are provided for dressing changes, injections and immunizations, and obtaining lab work. Several minor procedures are also performed in the PCCN.
Unit Information: The Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedules of the nursing and clerical staff are staggered to allow for coverage that might flow into the lunch hour or after hours. The PCCN staff, although small, is very “large” in collaborating with each other to strive to make the patient experience a highly satisfying one, and expectations of the patients and the organization.
Location: Boyd Tower, 2nd floor -- Elevator A to the second floor, turn right towards Boyd Tower, turn right at hallway. Clinic is down the hall on the left.
