Urology Clinic
Unit Description: Urology Clinic has two operating room suites, 5 treatment rooms, 8 exam rooms, a recovery area, and urodynamics suite.
Patient Populations: Specialties include oncology, male infertility, male sexual dysfunction, kidney stones, female incontinence and endourology. Procedures performed include many non-invasive procedures for cancer, general urology, infertility, brachytherapy, lithotripsy and pediatric surgeries.
Unit Information: Unique services offered include video urodynamics, biofeedback, bladder instillations for specific diagnoses, cystoscopies, prostate biopsy, antegrades and retrogrades of the bladder and testing for sacral nerve stimulation. Orientation consists of 8 weeks. The typical workday is 8 hours. The clinic is open until the last patient has left. RN's take additional call in the evening and weekends. Typically individuals with urology experience are interviewed; additional experience is needed in the specialty areas. Continuity of care and advocacy are key words in this clinic.
