2004 Nursing Excellence in Clinical Education

On November 30, 2004, professional nurses at UI Hospitals and Clinics were recognized at a ceremony honoring the nominees and recipients of the Nursing Excellence in Clinical Education Award. The award is given to honor staff nurses and nurse leaders who have been nominated for excellence in the characteristics of learning, educational leadership, staff/patient advocacy, professional presentation and innovative spirit. The award is established jointly by the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care and the University of Iowa College of Nursing, coordinated through Nursing Education Collaboratory. This year’s award recipients are Kim Kuennen, in the staff nurse category and Cheryl Vahl, in the nurse leader category.
