The State of Iowa is full of great nurses whose courage, competence and commitment to patients and the profession stands above all others.

In February, 100 Registered Nurses in Iowa were nominated by their peers and chosen from hundreds of nominations to become the first class of "100 Great Nurses of Iowa".

This great celebration of nurses and nursing will be an annual event sponsored by community leaders, University of Iowa College of Nursing, the Iowa Nurses Association's Iowa Nurses Foundation, and the Iowa Hospital Association.

We are pleased to have nine University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics nurses selected as Iowa's 100 Great Nurses.

Our nominees range from staff nurse to an Associate Director, and from the Cancer Clinic to the Operating room and include:
