UI Nursing Leader Accepts Post

Officials with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care announced today that Linda Chase, RN, MA, CNAA, Senior Assistant Hospital Director, Nursing Administration, has accepted the position of Chief Nursing Officer of University Hospital and the Ross Heart Hospital, which is part of the Ohio State Medical Center (OSMC), in Columbus, OH, effective January 2007. Chase served at UI Hospitals and Clinics for more than 28 years in positions of progressively increasing responsibility. She began her professional career as a staff nurse, then served as a nurse manager, clinical nurse specialist, administrative associate and associate director. Chase is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Nurses Association, Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders and the Iowa Nurses Association. Chase also has been the past recipient of the University of Iowa College of Nursing Sally Mathis Leadership Fellow Scholarship. "It is a bittersweet moment to see this outstanding nurse leader and friend leave. However, we are proud to see Ms. Chase move on to such a prestigious Chief Nursing Officer position at OSMC," said Linda Q. Everett, RN, PhD, FAAN, Senior Associate Hospital Director, Chief Nursing Officer, UI Hospitals and Clinics. "We congratulate her on this remarkable accomplishment and share with her our appreciation for all she has done for UI Hospitals and Clinics and the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care." Chase, will conclude her service at UI Hospitals and Clinics on December 22, 2006. She is married and the mother of 2 children. |
