Patient Care
UI physicians and nurses from Clinical Outreach Services visit more than 40 Iowa communities offering a comprehensive array of over 30 specialties and subspecialty clinics in local health care centers. Depending on the community need, clinics may be offered daily, weekly, or monthly.

Consultation
Services provided in outreach clinics are typically consultative. Located in local health care facilities, the clinics use local medical services and laboratory facilities. In these ways, outreach clinics supplement and support the care already received by patients within their local health care system.

Education
In addition to patient care, our outreach physicians also share their subspecialty expertise by providing educational opportunities for patients and local health care professionals. Outreach nurses are actively involved in local health fairs and in the development of local support groups.
