Family Advisory Council
How to Join

Are you interested in serving as a member of UI Children's Hospital Family Advisory Council?

The following are the qualities we seek in FAC members:

  1. Strong interpersonal skills - ability to communicate clearly and interact with family members and hospital staff whose backgrounds, experiences, and styles may be very different from your own
  2. Ability to share both positive and negative insight in a constructive way
  3. Enthusiasm about the hospital's mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research

A two-year commitment to serve is desired; and attendance at ~ 6 meetings/year is expected. To assist with transportation and child care expenses, FAC members may receive a small honorarium and free parking for each meeting attended. New FAC members are required to participate in an orientation session prior to the first meeting in the fall.
