The UI Hospitals and Clinics Health Information Center is designed
to offer consumer-oriented health information to patients and
visitors and to provide staff members with access to patient
education materials. A multitude of subjects are covered such as
cancer, pregnancy and childbirth, child-rearing, alternative
medicine, diabetes, and heart disease.
The Health Information Center contains a variety of
materials including books, movies, and audiotapes, that can
be checked out. Please feel free to ask our staff members
for assistance if you need it.
The Health Information Center includes:
- Books (for both adults and children)
- Books on tape
- Videotapes
- Magazines/newsletters
- Health Reference Center (a full-text database containing over
300 consumer health related magazines, journals, and
newsletters)
- Internet access
