Mindwell Egeland (Mindy) has worked in the Patients' Library since 1999. She has worked in various departments in UI Hospitals and Clinics including Pharmacy, Project Art, Ophthalmology, and Nursing. She holds a BA in Psychology from Wellesley College and MA in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa. Mindy enjoys all aspects of the library, especially helping patrons find books and information!

Volunteers

The Patients' Library is staffed 7 days a week by a splendid group of 40 volunteers. Our volunteers run all aspects of the Patients' Library from processing materials and making deliveries, to assisting patrons with finding materials and information. They have a vast area of interests and expertise that generally includes books and people but spans the globe in range. Thanks to our volunteers, we provide many services to "make a difference for patients everyday." Our volunteers work hard to allow the Patients' Library to remain open through many holidays and weekends.
