Project Art Mission Statement

The mission of Project Art at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is to create an environment that promotes healing, and comforts and delights patients, visitors, and staff through visual and performing arts. As an extension of the Hospitals' commitment to excellence in delivering comprehensive health care, Project Art serves the local and statewide community, offering artistic and aesthetic experiences intended to:

• Assist and enhance the healing process
• Reduce the stress and anxiety often associated with health care settings
• Revitalize and enrich the lives of patients, visitors, and staff at UI Hospitals and Clinics
• Provide a unique venue for visual and performing artists to share their talents
• Promote the arts through collaboration with local and regional organizations and artists
