Julliard-trained pianist Alpin Hong returns to Iowa in a four-day residency as part of Hancher Auditorium’s Can’t Contain Us Series, bringing young, exciting artists to unexpected places throughout the corridor, including UI Hospitals and Clinics. Described as “classical for the IPod generation,” Alpin Hong will also perform on April 25, 7:30 p.m. at City High School’s Opstad Auditorium.

Join New Pioneer Food Co-op Education Coordinator Theresa Carbrey as she discusses delicious, wholesome fare from around the world. Grains and beans, fruits and vegetables, with modest portions of lean protein: that’s how to stay trim, have more energy, and resist illness. We’ll talk about and sample hummus, tabouli, tofu and Bumble Baby energy bars, plus fresh whole grain hearth bread from the Co-op Bake House. We’ll enjoy a sweet natural ending with colorful fruit smoothies.
