Are housing or stipend available?
Housing and stipend are not available. For rental information contact the Housing Clearinghouse 319-335-3055, 172 Iowa Memorial Union, Iowa City, IA 52242.

What is the hospital like?
UI Hospitals and Clinics is a large teaching hospitals, with 831 beds. It takes about five to seven minutes to walk the length of the hospital, so interns should wear comfortable shoes.

Should I bring my car?
Parking at the hospital is limited. The Iowa City and Coralville Transit systems are wonderful. In addition, the University has a free bus system called Cambus that can take you to the hospital.

What is the weather like in Iowa?
Iowa has four distinct seasons. Winter can bring very cold temperatures and summer can be hot and humid. Interns should be prepared for a variety of weather conditions.
