Circle School Inpatient Services

All children and adolescents admitted to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry unit, are served in the Circle School while they are in the hospital. The school staff includes four teachers certified in special education and behavioral disorders, a school associate, an activities therapist, and a music therapist.

Assessment of cognitive, social-emotional and developmental functions, education evaluations, and evaluations by other team members (speech and language pathologist, occupational therapist) may be arranged by the treatment team.

Teachers contact local schools to identify student needs, to report progress, and to deliver recommendations. Every effort is made to respond to parental and school concerns.
