Internships available in physical disabilities and behavioral health

At UI Hospitals and Clinics, occupational therapy students complete Level I and Level II internships in an acute care setting. Students have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the areas of neurology, neurosurgery, burns, trauma, cardiac, internal medicine, orthopedics, oncology, behavioral health, and pediatrics.

Internships are available in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Students learn to meet the challenges of providing occupational therapy in a fast-paced, ever changing hospital environment. UI Hospitals and Clinics is an academic medical center and students have one-on-one interaction and supervision from a registered occupational therapist.
