Carbon Monoxide(CO) Poisoning

Diagnosis The key to suspect caron monixide (CO) exposure is from the patients history and the site of discovery. CO poisoning should be suspected in any patient removed from a possible CO environment. Frequently, several individuals may be exposed to CO from a common source. All exposed individuals should be examined even if they are asymptomatic. In an enclosed space poisoning can occur even with short exposure. Abnormal behavior in victims removed from automobiles should raise suspicion of CO poisoning. Drugs and alcohol may also be present in self-inflicted exposure to CO. Symptoms
CO poisoning may present with flu-like symptoms (without fever). |
