Pediatric Pulmonary Diagnostic
Services Available

The Pedicatric Diagnostic Services provides:

• Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic
• Cystic Fibrosis Center
• Pulmonary Function Lab Services
  Test and procedures include: spirometry, arterial blood gases, fingerstick blood gases, lung volumes (plethysmograph), diffusion capacity (single breath), negative inspiratory force, oximetry-spotchecks; trending, histamine challenge, sputum collection
• Aerosol Therapy
  Types of therapy include: bronchodilators, pentamidine, antibiotics
• Patient Education
  Types of education materials offered: meter dose inhaler with spacer device, compressor for home aerosolized treatments, peak flow meters, flutter valves
• Sleep Studies
  Studies include: observed nap studies, download of overnight, oximetry
• Exercise Studies
  Studies include: gas exchange, bronchospasm oxygen desaturation with laryngoscopy
• Nutrition Assessment
  Current studies include: canopy study
• Pediatric Bronchoscopy Service
  Services and therapies offered: patient monitoring, oximetry, O2 therapy with or without lavage, aerosol therapy, upper airway exam
• Laryngoscopy
  Types of exams include: upper airway exam
