Safety education is the heart of our mission. Our trained educators provide one-on-one instruction, demonstrations, and information related to safety topics such as:

• Bike safety
• Fire safety
• Home safety
• Water safety
• Child injury prevention
• Poison prevention
• Safety information for children with special needs

Unintentional injury is the leading cause of death and disability for children up to 14 years old. Each year more than 100 children come through the Emergency Treatment Center and are hospitalized at UI Children’s Hospital with burn-, crash- and fire-related injuries. Our aim is to reduce injuries through education and prevention.
