Internship opportunities
The Department of Social Service offers exciting opportunities for social work students seeking practicum placements. A variety of practice settings and clinical opportunities are available to the student for training in clinical social work practice. There are internships offered for both BSW and MSW students who are attending schools of social work in the state of Iowa. Throughout the internship, a weekly basic skills training seminar is offered with sample topics including cognitive therapy, conducting a psychosocial assessment, discharge planning resources, and resume writing & interviewing. Each student is supervised by a LMSW/LISW social worker or a team of social workers. Internship/Practicum placements are offered throughout the course of the year - either full or part time, whichever is required for the particular degree desired.
