FIP provides cash payments and Medicaid health care coverage to families with dependant children and limited income and resources. The amount of your monthly cash payment is determined by the number of members in your family and your current income and resources.
How to apply: You should apply for FIP through your local Department of Human Services.
What to do if you are denied: If you apply for FIP but are denied, you can appeal the decision. This is done by writing or calling your Department of Human Services within 30 days after learning of your denial, and requesting a hearing.
