CPE Supervisory Training Curriculum


Curriculum
The curriculum of Supervisory CPE is two years in length. Throughout the curriculum, the following components will be constant:
  1. Individualized Learning Contract.
    At the beginning of each unit of supervisory CPE, the Supervisory CPE Resident shall develop a personalized learning contract. This contract shall complement the objectives the ACPE Standards for supervisory CPE and the curriculum of the UIHC supervisory CPE program.
  2. Weekly Individual Supervision.
    In individual supervision, the supervisory-in-training (SIT) will be accountable to his/her supervisory for his/her progress on the learning goals, both individual and ACPE, and for all clinical work with CPE students.
  3. CPE Supervisor-in-Training Peer Group.
    This group offers peer review of one’s CPE supervision and the required ACPE position papers.
  4. Supervisory Involvement with a CPE group.
    Initially, this will be through observation. When a conceptual base is established, this will be supervision of a level I CPE group.
  5. ACPE Position Papers.
    As required in ACPE Standards ACPE
