  • ASK Family Resource Center
    The ASK ("Access for Special Kids") Family Resource Center is a "one-stop-shop" for children and adults with disabilities and their families. Through its member organizations, the ASK Family Resource Center provides a broad range of information, advocacy, support, training, and direct services. These services are all accessible in one building or from one phone call. A single contact can direct individuals or families to the most appropriate services and supports to meet their needs.   • Bureau of Family Health
    The Bureau of Family Health (BFH) is a bureau within the Iowa Department of Public Health. BFH promotes the health of Iowa families by providing resources for health care services through public and private collaborative efforts. BFH advocates for services that are family-centered, community-based, coordinated, and culturally sensitive.   • Center for Disabilities and Development
    The Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) is located at the University of Iowa. CDD is Iowa’s premier center for people with disabilities or special needs. The first priority is to be a resource people can use to accomplish personal goals. Services provided include: medical care and other services to improve quality of life (at home, school, and work); training; research; and information sharing.   • ChildServe
    ChildServe, formerly the Convalescent Home for Children, is a nonprofit organization based in central Iowa. ChildServe partners with families to help children with special health care needs live a great life.   • Early ACCESS
    The first three years of life are important in building a child’s future. Every family wants their child to grow to be their best. Some children with developmental delays or conditions need extra help. Early ACCESS is available to help. Early ACCESS is Iowa’s early intervention service for children birth to age three and their families. It is based on a partnership between families, Child Health Specialty Clinics, the Departments of Education, Public Health, and Human Services, and others.   • Family Voices
    We are families and friends speaking on behalf of children with special health care needs. We are families from throughout the United States who have children with special health needs. We are also caregivers, professionals, and friends whose lives have been touched by these children and their families. There is a state chapter of Family Voices called "Family Voices of Iowa".   • Iowa Community Empowerment
    Iowa Community Empowerment was founded on the premise that communities and state government can work together to improve the well-being of Iowa's young children, 0-5 years old. Iowa Community Empowerment unites agencies, organizations, and community partners to speak with a shared voice to support, strengthen, and meet the needs of all young children and families.   • Iowa COMPASS
    Iowa COMPASS is Iowa's free, statewide information and referral service for people with disabilities, their families, service providers, and other members of the community. Information is maintained on over 6,000 local, state, and national agencies and programs. Information specialists are available Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Central Time).
