Advancing age can be accompanied by difficulties related to managing the stress
points of aging (e.g., retirement, the loss of friends and family members,
illness and physical decline, etc.). As our population ages, depression,
anxiety, and dementias are also increasingly prevalent. Dementias can manifest
in memory impairment, difficulty in planning or organization, difficulty
with language or communication, difficulty with motor tasks, difficulty recognizing
familiar objects, or personality changes.
