First Time? Advice from Other Kids
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), by Jacob, Age 14

The first thing you do when you get to the hospital is check in. They make sure that you have no metal items. The metal items will be a problem with the magnet machine. Then you sit in the waiting room until they call you. After they call you, you go into the room where the M.R.I. machine is and you lie down on the table. Then the table moves up into the little tube, and you just lie there for about forty-five minutes while they take pictures of your insides. You may use head sets or ear plugs because the M.R.I. can be loud.
