Meet Kid Captain Jacob Endress

Jacob suffered third-degree burns to his buttocks, arm, and hand when he fell into a fire pit while playing with his cousins. Emergency physicians at his local hospital quickly referred him to the Burn Treatment Center at UI Children’s Hospital. His treatment has involved skin grafts, special baths to clean the wounds, and extensive physical therapy. Despite the pain and scars from his injury, Jacob plays soccer and T-ball and practices Tae Kwon Do. Read more about Jacob. (pdf download)
