Meet Kid Captain Jack Koehn

Name: Jack Koehn

Jack Koehn was born with hydrocephalus, an excess of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain’s ventricles. This condition is addressed with shunts to drain the excess fluid, but Jack also has severe hemophilia, which complicates his treatment. With expert care provided by UI Children’s Hospital, Jack leads an active life, excels at school, and has many friends despite his numerous hospitalizations.
