Meet Kid Captain Kelby Telander

Kelby Telander was diagnosed with serious hearing impairment at 21 months old and soon lost most hearing in his left ear. UI Children’s Hospital physicians determined he could benefit from a cochlear implant to replace his lost hearing. In addition to receiving the electronic device, he participates in a clinical study that helps advance scientific knowledge.
