University of Iowa Children's Hospital has been dedicated to meeting the health care needs of children and their families since 1898 when University Hospital was founded. In 1919, Children's Hospital opened its doors as a distinct service to children.
Today, University of Iowa Children's Hospital is a nationally recognized pediatric center of excellence, providing comprehensive health care for children in our outpatient clinics, surgical treatment and diagnostic centers, and inpatient beds.
