24/7 Consultation and Referral
UI Consult is a valuable resource for health care professionals, providing access to consultations, referrals, or patient information. A single phone call connects you with the expertise of University of Iowa Physicians, comprised of faculty in the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine who serve as the medical staff of UI Hospitals and Clinics.
The UI Consult staff is trained to help you make contact as quickly as possible. Faculty consultation is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. On-call physicians are available for each clinical department. If you need to speak with a physician not on call, our staff will make every effort to connect you as quickly as possible.
If your patient requires multiple clinic appointments, the UI Consult staff will coordinate them, as well as arrange hospital admissions, and patient transfers including emergency vehicle transport.
The staff can help you obtain the results of your patient’s diagnostic tests so you have the information you need, when you need it to best treat your patient.
