Health Care Away from Home
When traveling, always carry your most current Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plan ID card. If you or a family member need medical attention and your health plan ID card is not available, it is important to give the provider's office the alpha prefix and the policyholder's identification number.
EMERGENCY CARE away from Iowa City
If you or your family member must go to a hospital for an emergency or accidental injury, your health plan coverage is the same as if the incident occurred in your local area.

All pharmacies in the Iowa City/Coralville/North Liberty area participate with Blue Rx. For plan participants living outside this area, check pharmacy locations. Certain drugs are limited per month, benefit period, or lifetime by drug-specific quantity limitations. The limitations are determined by Wellmark based on Medical necessity. For a list of drugs subjects and quantity limitations, check with your pharmacist, physician or Wellmark.
