Information for Potential Research Subjects

Since 1992, the Cardiomyopathy Treatment Program has offered access to innovative and novel treatments through inpatient and outpatient clinical trials. Clinical trials involve research with new and existing drugs and devices. These therapies are offered in addition to standard care for treatment of cardiomyopathy/heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Patients often benefit from enrollment in clinical trials by receiving close follow up care, continuity of care by doctors and nurses and often feel a sense of satisfaction participating in research.

For more information contact the Cardiomyopathy Treatment Program at 319-356-1028 and ask to speak to a research nurse coordinator or email page-scovel@uiowa.edu.
