- University of Iowa Children’s Hospital is home to some of the world’s most skilled
blood and marrow, heart, kidney, lung, and liver specialists for children and adolescents.
- Specialists in the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program performed 15 bone marrow transplants last year and have completed more than 425 since May 1986.
These include autologous and allergenic marrow, peripheral blood stem cell, and umbilical cord blood transplants.

a year using a steroid-sparing protocol.
