Application Process For A College Student Volunteer

Thanks for your interest in volunteering! Student orientations are held at the beginning of each semester (in January, June, and August/September - dates are listed below) and you must preregister to participate. To preregister:

1. Complete and print off the following interactive PDF that includes our application, essay, letter of intent, and background check consent form. (Download PDF)

2. Return these 3 completed materials in person to Volunteer Services (8025 JCP, elevator F to 8th floor) during regular business hours (8 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday) after the date listed below. Application materials will not be accepted outside of the times listed and a limited number of openings exist.

Spring 2010 will be accepted starting December 1, 2009. Spring Orientation is Sunday, January 24, 2010.

Summer 2010 will be accepted starting May 1, 2010. Summer Orientation is Sunday, June 6, 2010.

3. Upon submitting the completed application to Volunteer Services, you will be given your preregistration cover sheet with more specific information about our orientation session, including a health screening packet. Call to schedule a health screening appointment at UEHC, the University Employee Health Clinic (1st floor Boyd Tower). Those students who are farther along in the health screening process will have priority in choosing a unit at the large group orientation session.

4. Look at the list of unit placement options and choose three or four that you would be most interested in.

5. Attend the large group orientation session, where you will select your volunteer placement.

6. Attend a unit specific training session, and...

7. VOLUNTEER!

Once again, thanks for your interest in volunteering. We're excited that you're considering joining the team and we look forward to helping you make your own amazing memories as a volunteer here.
