The Fourth Floor Salon sponsors special programming for our pediatric inpatients as well. "Here’s Looking at Me" is a monthly activity provided in partnership with Child Life Specialists from University of Iowa Children's Hospital at UI Hospitals and Clinics. The salon closes to the public for the afternoon and becomes the venue for a private glamour and makeover party.

Children have the opportunity to have their hair and nails done by our licensed cosmetologists, put on temporary tattoos, try on wigs, hats, scarves, boas, and other exciting accessories, all in preparation for a "photo shoot" when the kids get to show off their new looks for the camera. The photographs are given to families and often become some parent’s most valuable keepsakes.
